MMS being international numbers is not effective for business. People generally ignore random international numbers. At least if it is a UK number, people would generally at least look at it. Using international numbers would require extra steps in the process to make sure client's knew we would be requesting mm through an international number. It also doesn't inspire confidence as people then ask why an international number. Thanks
